The Singapore Seafood eMarketplace Developed by VCC Aims to Transform and Expand the International Reach of Singapore’s Seafood Wholesale Trade

On 26 November 2018, VCC signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Punggol Fish Merchants Association, Seafood Industries Association Singapore and Singapore Fish Merchants’ General Association. It was an honour to have Dr Koh Poh Koon, Singapore Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, witnessing the MOU signing ceremony.

With the support of Dr Koh Poh Koon, the Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), it further shows the significance of digitalisation of business processes, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to thrive in a global industry and not be left out as big players have already started to move towards digitalisation.

The key reasons the three seafood associations chose VCC was due to our ability to not only create and operate the Seafood eMarketplace platform but also to provide other value-added services via our CamelONE™ platform. VCC will help bring on-board seafood suppliers and buyers from both local and overseas markets, provide cross-border connectivity to trade facilitation services and provide integrated services to link up freight forwarding, coldstore, trucking, last mile delivery and other logistics related services.

“Though this platform, seafood associations aim to improve operational efficiency by streamlining seafood trading processes such as procurement and sales management, and deliver better business insights through analytics,” IMDA said in a statement.
