Introduction of VCC’s Upcoming CamelONE™ Trade Finance to Kenya

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) had organised an inaugural Afro-Asia FinTech Festival, which was held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 15 to 16 July 2019. The purpose of the festival was to act as a bridge between FinTech firms and financial institutions from Singapore and those from Kenya, to create opportunities for exchanging of innovations and ideas.

At the festival, Dr Patrick Njoroge, Governor of CBK, and Mr Ravi Menon, Managing Director of MAS had signed a FinTech Cooperation Agreement to support digital infrastructure development in Kenya. Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister and Chairman of MAS and Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of Kenya were there to witness the signing ceremony.

With the headquarter in Singapore and an office in Kenya, this inaugural Afro-Asia FinTech Festival was a rare and perfect platform for us to introduce our upcoming solution – CamelONE Trade Finance. Our Kenya team had a booth at the Singapore Pavilion, to show our support for the Singapore government’s effort to boost the financial services innovation of the two regions.

VCC’s CamelONE Trade Finance is a unified multi-bank portal which aggregates trade finance products from various trade finance banks and offers a range of trade finance products such as Letter of Credit, Receivable Financing, Import Bill Collection, and more.

This product will first launch in Singapore and we look forward to launching this product in Kenya in the near future, to contribute our part in boosting the Fintech ecosystem in the two regions.
