Bilateral Partnership with Mauritius Network Services (MNS) on Offering E-Freight Solutions in Mauritius

As part of VCC’s expansion plan, VCC has identified Africa as the region with growing trade volume and expanding market potential. Of the targeted countries within Africa, Mauritius has been identified as an important and strategic landing location for VCC. With that, it sparked off talks with Mauritius Network Services (MNS) to introduce e-freight solutions in Mauritius, with support by International Enterprise Singapore during the feasibility and pilot stage.

On 18th January 2018, VCC and MNS have signed an agreement to initiate e-freight solutions for the Mauritius trade and logistics industry. MNS is a pioneer in implementing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in Mauritius, with a mission to provide quality and innovative network services connecting businesses and government, which coincides with the value proposition that VCC’s e-freight solutions offers.

VCC’s e-freight solutions aim to develop and promote an efficient method to manage paperless freight and logistics processes in Mauritius, with the core platform being CamelONE. This CamelONE platform facilitates data and information exchange and acts like a message translator with local and global cross-border connectivity. VCC’s e-freight solutions help to integrate and automate various trade and logistics processes (exports and imports) for air and ocean freight.

VCC strongly believes with this implementation, it will establish interoperable data exchange standards, leveraging the defined messaging standards, thus ultimately leading to further adoption by more players in the trade and logistics industry.
