Cambodian Government Signs Contract with Singapore’s vCargo Cloud to Develop and Implement Phase 2 of Cambodia’s National Single Window

On 27th March 2018, VCC was awarded the contract for Phase 2 of Cambodia’s National Single Window (CNSW), following its successful implementation of Phase 1 last year. Under the contract, VCC will create an electronic platform based on its trade facilitation platform, CamelONE, to connect traders with Cambodian License and Permit Issuing Authorities. Besides providing timely and accurate statistics to improve reporting, CamelONE will also help to digitalise documentation processes such as application for licenses and permits, which will reduce cross-border risks and costs incurred by stakeholders.

The contract was signed with the Cambodian government and involves the integration of seven Cambodian authorities:

• Ministry of Commerce

• General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia

• Council for Development of Cambodia

• Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery

• Ministry of Health

• Ministry of Industry and Handicrafts

• Port and Airport Operators in Cambodia

Mr Desmond Tay, CEO of VCC, commented, “Following the successful implementation of Phase 1 of the CNSW project, we are excited to work closely with the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Cambodia to roll out Phase 2 of the project. VCC’s involvement bears testimony to our capabilities and the strong partnership we have forged with the Cambodian government.”
